CA Technologies has agreed to acquire Veracode, a closely held Burlington, Massachusetts company for $614 million in cash, the business software company announced Monday.

The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close in April.

CA, now based in Manhattan, retains operations in Islandia, site of its former headquarters. CA was formerly known as Computer Associates.

Veracode tests the security of web and cloud-based software applications.

“Software is at the heart of every company’s digital transformation. Therefore, it’s increasingly important for them to integrate security at the start of their development processes,” Ayman Sayed, president and chief product officer, CA Technologies, said in a statement.
