A Calverton trailer park has been sold for $21 million to a Chicago company, reports the real estate broker handling the sale.

Thurm's Estates, a 101-acre site with space for 328 trailers, fetched a price that represents more than $66,000 per space.

The buyer, Hometown America, has already changed the name of the trailer park to Calverton Meadows -- and it has already made a new sale of one of the homes. Hometown America, selling on the website, sold a 24 x 60 foot 1974 Poloron home. No price was listed for the three-bedroom, two-bath trailer.

The new owner did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether it plans to make changes at the Calverton trailer community.

Built in 1958, Thurm’s Estates has 155 single-wide spaces and 173 double-wide spaces, said Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, with offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and nationwide.

The Chicago buyer is described as "a manufactured housing investment firm.”

"Long Island is one of the country's premier markets for manufactured housing," the broker said in a statement.

The Calverton mobile home community lists an address of 705 Fresh Pond Ave. It caters to residents 55 and older.

Current listings for the trailer park range from $12,900 to $65,000 (monthly rent for the land and annual taxes are extra).

The $12,900 unit is a 5-room trailer built in 1972, on a 40x80 lot, with $590 in annual taxes.

The $65,000 trailer, built in 1996, also has five rooms and is on a 40 x 80-foot lot; the listing does not disclose the annual property taxes.
