In a first for Lake Success-based Canon U.S.A. Inc., it has sold one of its top wireless radiography systems to an equine hospital.
The CXDI-70C Wireless Digital Radiography detector, installed at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky., "allows veterinary professionals to easily and quickly capture images of large body regions that were previously difficult to capture using traditional imaging technologies," Canon said in a news release.
"This installation represents the first time a CXDI-70C Wireless DR detector has been installed for use in an equine hospital," Canon said.
The 7 1/2 pound CXDI-70C Wireless DR System, Canon’s first wireless detector, "provides exceptionally high-quality images while also reducing x-ray exposure to the patient," the company said.
Rood & Riddle, a full-service equine hospital, was established in 1986. It offers surgery, internal medicine, advanced diagnostic imaging, a focused podiatry center and specialized reproductive center. The practice also provides ambulatory services for emergencies, preventative care, general reproduction and radiography.
