Stephen M. Swad, who resigned Tuesday as chief financial officer for Comverse Technology Inc., has landed a new job at Rosetta Stone, the language learning company.

Rosetta Stone Inc., of Arlington, Va., said Swad will be its new chief financial officer.

Manhattan-based Comverse has a major subsidiary, Verint Systems Inc., in Melville. Before he joined Comverse Swad was chief financial officer of Fannie Mae, the government-sponsored mortgage lender, from May 2007-August 2008; and had previously held the same position at AOL Inc. Before AOL, he had held top financial positions at Turner Entertainment Group, Time Warner and KMPG LLG.
