Manhattan barbecue is coming to Long Island.

Righteous Urban Barbeque, or RUB, is planning to open in East Meadow, the Chelsea-based restaurant says.

“All of the things you love about the Chelsea restaurant are coming out to the Island,“ the company says. “Stay tuned for more information and be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates!“

In a July 28 Facebook update, the restaurant said, “Long Island here we come! Keep your eyes peeled here for updated information regarding our new East Meadow location. Find all the information here; grand opening date, events and more.“

The new location will be  at 2367 Hempstead Tpke., according to the Facebook posting.

Newsday's Rosemary Olander, in a 2006 story, talked to Righteous Urban Barbecue co-owner Paul Kirk, who disclosed that, in fact, when it comes to applying the seasonings to the ribs at RUB, the cooks don't rub — they sprinkle.
