Chyron's role in 3-D broadcast

Thursday night’s preseason NFL football game — the first in 3-D — will be broadcast using Melville-based Chyron’s technology.

The game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots will be shown on Verizon FiOS TV. It will be the ninth lived 3-D sports event using Chyron’s on-air graphics, according to the company. Customers must have 3-D TV sets, 3-D glasses and a high-definition set-top box to view the broadcast.
