Broadcast graphics provider ChyronHego Corp. announced Tuesday it has named a chief operating officer based in Stockholm to lead the company's operations outside the Americas.
The COO, Rickard Öhrn, 46, will report to Melville-based ChyronHego's president and chief executive, Johan Apel.
"Rickard's combination of keen business management skills and marketing insights will serve us well as we continue to build a world-class organization for the broadcast industry's most robust and powerful graphics solutions," Apel said in a statement.
Öhrn joins ChyronHego after serving as chief executive of Research and Analysis of Media AB, a research and marketing firm operating in 17 countries, and as COO of Svenska Tracab AB, a provider of digital player-tracking technology for sports.
In November, ChyronHego agreed to be acquired by San Francisco-based private equity firm Vector Capital for $2.82 per share. In afternoon trading, ChyronHego shares lost 1 cent to $2.79.
