Plainview-based Computer Network Solutions is moving to Islandia.

The move will allow CNS to double the amount of space for co-location – a service that allows customers to install their hardware in CNS’s facility.

CNS provides security, data backup, network connections and other services. The new headquarters will be at 131 Hoffman Lane in Islandia.

“Our current location did not have the available power to allow us to expand our current colocation data center effectively in order to accommodate the demand that we are seeing from the marketplace,” CNS said in a news release on its website.

“The new 40,000 square-foot location will also house more than one hundred employees offering” round-the-clock, year-round support, the company said. The Plainview site didn’t have a hefty enough electrical power source to supply the kind of expansion CNS plans, the company said.

The new location offers 2.5 megawatts of power, multiple generator backup, a redundant air conditioning system and private co-location suites.
