Comtech gets $3.2M in amplifier orders

Comtech Telecommunications Corp., the Melville defense electronics contractor, said Monday morning that one of its subsidiaries had received $3.2 million worth of orders for Ka-band high-power amplifiers for commercial satellite services.
The subsidiary is Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc., based in Santa Clara, Calif. Comtech president and chief executive Fred Kornberg said in a statement, “These orders represent follow-on orders, and we are pleased that customers continue to select Comtech Xicom to fulfill their ongoing amplifier needs."
The Xicom unit manufactures a wide variety of tube-based and solid-state power amplifiers for military and commercial satellite uplink applications.
