Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has won a $1.3 million contract for microwave amplifier systems used to jam communications.
The contract from an unnamed international customer was awarded to Comtech’s PST subsidiary, the Melville company said in a news release Wednesday.
“This follow-on order clearly demonstrates our continued leadership position in communications jamming technology and the ongoing need for our high-power broadband amplifiers, which are utilized in major electronic warfare applications both domestically and internationally,” Comtech president and chief executive Stanton Sloane said.
On Monday the company announced that it had received three orders totaling $14.3 million for communications equipment from the U.S. Defense Department during the fiscal third quarter.
Shares of Comtech rose 0.75 percent Wednesday to close at $22.88 on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Shares rose 4 cents, or 0.17 percent, to close at $22.92 on Thursday.
