Bethpage Federal Credit Union said this week it has expanded its partnership with the Long Island Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Services Network.

The credit union said it is offering cash incentives, through an affinity program, for network members to open credit card and banking accounts.

The GLBT Services Network is made up of five not-for-profit organizations: Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth, The Long Island GLBT Community Center, Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders -- Long Island, The East End Gay Organization and Equality Long Island. Together, the organizations work toward an end to homophobia on Long Island; to provide a home and safe space for the GLBT community; and to advocate for equality.

The credit union said it was offering the services "as part of its ongoing commitment to cultural diversity and responsible banking."

“The Long Island GLBT Services Network has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Bethpage Federal Credit Union for many years, with Bethpage continually sponsoring many of our annual events," the network's chief executive, David Kilmnick, said. "Our partnership is local – a local financial institution’s positive relationship with a local community organization. The effect this relationship will have on the lives of thousands of Long Islanders is tremendous.”
