Credit union offers tax prep help

Once again low- to moderate-income Long Islanders can get free income tax preparation assistance at certain Bethpage Federal Credit Union locations.

This is the eighth year Bethpage has run – in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service – its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program for those with incomes of $49,000 and below. And, no, you don’t have to be a Bethpage customer to qualify.

This year more than 150 trained volunteers will assist taxpayers on Wednesdays and Saturdays through April 13.
