Cyberattack prevention workshop postponed

A workshop to help businesses protect themselves from cyberattacks that had been scheduled for this week has been postponed, the organizers said.
The event, which had been planned for Wednesday in Melville by the Long Island Food Council, will be rescheduled for February, officials said Monday afternoon.
Speakers were to include experts from the Advanced Institute for Manufacturing, Cybersafe Solutions, Hofstra University, Manufacturing & Technology Enterprise Center, New York Institute of Technology, New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Stony Brook University and USI Insurance Services.
Topics at the rescheduled event will include types of cyberattacks, how to respond to an attack, employee training and government grants.
