Business executives and real estate developers are expected to learn details Wednesday of the competitive process New York State will use to award about $1 billion in state tax credits and grants later this year.

The contest, in its second year, will be discussed at a meeting of the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research in Manhasset.

The meeting is open to the public. Long Island won $101.6 million in last year’s competition.
