Doctor heads statewide group

Dr. Steven J. Walerstein has been appointed president of the New York chapter of the American College of Physicians. He will remain governor of the Long Island chapter.

Walerstein is executive vice president for medical affairs and medical director at NuHealth, the public benefit corporation that manages the operations of Nassau University Medical Center, A. Holly Patterson Extended Care and a network of Family Health Centers. He is a Dix Hills resident.
