East End winery awarded $19,000 state grant

A small winery on the East End is among 27 new and early-stage farms to share more than $1 million in state funding, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced Monday.
Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard in Peconic and Cutchogue received $19,154 from the state’s New Farmers Grant Fund.
The vineyard dates to 2006 when Anthony Sannino and his wife, Lisa, purchased the property. The couple also operate a nearby bed-and-breakfast inn.
The farmers grant fund “continues to provide access to capital to help new and early farms to grow,” Cuomo said. “With this latest round of awards, New York will help increase production and support this critically important part of our economy.”
Past local recipients of grants include Bhumi Farms in East Hampton, Browder’s Birds in Mattituck and Condzella Hops in Wading River.
