The Long Island Economic Development Council will hold its fourth public meeting Tuesday between 2 and 4 p.m. at Republic Airport.

The session will be inside Molloy College’s Suffolk Center at 7180 Republic Airport in East Farmingdale. Members of the public can observe the proceedings but testimony will be taken at another session later.

The council, appointed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, is facing a Nov. 14 deadline to submit a five-year strategy for boosting the local economy. The plan will compete with others from across the state for a portion of $200 million in state aid. An additional $800 million will be distributed in 2011-12.

More information about the council can be found at http://nyworks.ny.gov/content/long-island.
