The Long Island Economic Development Council will hold its third meeting Tuesday in Riverhead, officials said Friday.

The council, established by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, is charged with developing a five-year plan by Nov. 14 to create jobs.

The plan will compete with those of nine other councils across the state for millions of dollars in grants and tax credits from Albany.

The local council will meet from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Montaukett Learning Resource Center of Suffolk County Community College, 121 Speonk-Riverhead Rd., Riverhead.

The public can observe the proceedings but will not have an opportunity to speak.

Separately, the council will take public testimony at a forum Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hofstra University's Mack Student Center in Hempstead.

To RSVP for either event, residents should call Loretta Crawford of the Empire State Development Corp. at 631-435-0717 or email nys-longisland@empire
