Electronics expo set for Islandia in Sept.
Major corporations such as 3M and local concerns such as Assemblyonics Inc. of Hauppauge have already signed up as exhibitors for an electronic assembly industry get-together planned in Islandia next month: the Long Island SMTA Expo and Technical Forum.
But the exhibitor list isn't final yet, so any company interested in showing its products can reach the event coordinator, Thomas J. Zanatta of Motorola, through the website of the Long Island chapter of the Surface Mount Technology Association.
The Long Island group invites those interested in the surface-mount assembly industry to attend, including process engineers, SMT machine operators and technicians, quality engineers, test and component engineers and project managers.
The event takes place Sept. 21 at the Islandia Marriott Long Island, 3635 Express Dr. N., in Islandia. There's a free lunch beginning at noon.
There are sessions planned on the following topics:
Stencil technology: Arthur J. Guidi, chief executive of Utz Technologies Llc.
Using automated solder paste inspection to improve print yields: Chrys Shea, founder and owner of Shea Engineering Services.
Pick-and-Place technologies: David Vicari, process services manager, Advanced Process Laboratory, UIC.
Reflow soldering: Don De Angelo, vice president, corporate accounts, Heller Industries.
Non-destructive profiling methods: Marybeth Allen, sales manager, KIC.
