Empire National Bank said it opened its first Manhattan location Friday, a loan and deposit production office at 555 Fifth Ave.
The unit of Islandia-based Empire Bancorp said the Manhattan location is an office rather than a branch, because it cannot accept cash.
Empire has branches in Islandia, Shirley, Port Jefferson Station and Mineola.
Total assets were $511.6 million at the end of the first quarter. Its shares, traded over the counter, closed up 9 cents, to $8.78.
