The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Local 30 of the International Union of Operating Engineers will begin taking applications Monday for 30 stationary engineer apprenticeships, officials said.

Applications can be obtained at the union’s office, 16-16 Whitestone Ewy. in Whitestone, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays through March 4. Forms must be returned via certified postal mail with a postmark of March 11 or earlier.

Applicants must be 18 or older, provide proof of completion of high school or GED courses, pass math and aptitude tests, be physically able to do the work, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and be legally able to work in the United States.
