Estée Lauder said Friday that it plans to acquire Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, the fragrance brand of perfumer Frédéric Malle. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
 
The Frédéric Malle collection, established in Paris in 2000, includes 21 fragrances sold in stores in Paris and New York, as well as through Barney’s in the United States and Liberty in London.
 
The transaction is expected to close in January.
 
The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., based in New York, owns a number of well-known beauty and fragrance brands, including Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Aveda and Jo Malone.
 
Shares of Estee Lauder rose 60 cents to $72.43 in midday trading Friday. Its shares have edged up 3 percent over the past year.
