Nancy Rojas of New Hyde Park received the 2010 Employee of Distinction Award from the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging for “extraordinary dedication” to older adults.

Rojas, who received a $100 check with the honor, is residence director of Flushing House, a nonprofit senior retirement community where she aims to help elderly residents remain active and independent.

She’s helped about 500 senior citizens become residents of the facility during the past nine years.
