A Farmingdale data networking company, Juma Technology, is set to be purchased by a Rhode Island rival.
Carousel Industries, of Exeter, R.I., has signed a letter of intent to buy Juma Technology's assets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With offices on Toledo Street in Farmingdale, and on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, Juma Technology specializes in networking and Internet telephony.
Formed in 2002, it is a business unit of the publicly traded Juma Corp. and has about 350 customers, mainly in the retail, health care, education (K-12 and university) and financial sectors, Carousel said.
Juma Technology has gained industry recognition for its fast growth and innovation, Carousel said in a news release.
"In addition to possessing a veteran sales force, Juma Technology also has an experienced staff of engineers capable of providing network management, pre-sales support, programming and network design services," Carousel said.
