Feeling overwhelmed to be topic at women's meeting

The Garden City-based Nassau County chapter of the National Association for Professional Women has set a date for its next gathering, to be held next Wednesday.

Joanne Behal, a chapter member, will speak at the 6 p.m. meeting, to be held at Fuse Restaurant, at the Hilton Long Island, Huntington, on Broadhollow Road.

Behal, managing partner at Performance Development Solutions, will talk about feeling overwhelmed.“

The chapter also sent out a summary of its most recent monthly meeting, held July 13 and featuring, as speaker, Katherine Ryan, vice president of Ryan & Ryan PR Inc., of Farmingdale.

Ryan “provided business development tips, public relations advice and helped chapter members enhance their business marketing objectives,“ the chapter said in a news release.

“She introduced chapter members to ways of identifying target audiences for marketing purposes, explained the importance of developing key messages, provided pointers on how to hone in on 'calls to action' and explained what it meant to 'add legs' to existing promotional efforts.“

Wasserman, independent insurance adviser with APW Insurance; Christine McGowan, owner of Molly Maid of New Hyde Park and Garden City; Kathleen Flynn, financial representative with Q6 Advisors; Beth M. Levine, owner of Multi Media Promotions; and guest attendee Mary E. Butler, also of Emmaus House Foundation, Inc.
