Job hunting in the bleak winter season in a challenging market can seem particualry daunting.

But the Five O’Clock Club, a Manhatttan career-consulting firm, believes effective strategies will bear fruit in any market in any season.

“Five O’Clock Club members who command a $200,000-plus pay rate are getting jobs in less than six months,” the group says.

The group’s suggestions include:

-Don’t jump in without a plan.

-Decide what you really want to do.

-Set targets and keep them in your sights.

-Seek out coaching groups of employed and unemployed job seekers.

-Network with the “big dogs.”
