After renovation and redesign as a multitenant building, the former headquarters of 1-800-Flowers in Westbury has been sold, the broker said this week.

The buyer of the 220,000-square-foot building is a private Manhattan-based company, Cushman & Wakefield Inc. said in a news release. The broker did not disclose the buyer's name.

Cushman & Wakefield's Metropolitan Area Capital Markets Group said it represented the seller, and found a buyer for the building.

"It was a very good purchase, a class A asset that traded at well below replacement cost," David Bernhaut, of Cushman & Wakefield, said.

The building, which is about 90 percent occupied, is on 11 acres in a commercial submarket of Westbury, near Garden City, known as The Hub, the broker said. It was built in 1986 and is near the Meadowbrook State Parkway.

It has a full-height atrium, cafeteria and concierge service.
