The U.S. Commerce Department is organizing a two-day event in Manhattan for businesses interested in selling goods and services in China and its neighbors.

The Greater China Business Forum will be held Oct. 7 and 8 at the New York Athletic Club, 180 Central Park South. The event is part of the commerce department's Discover Global Markets initiative and is the only one to be held in the metropolitan area. It will feature individual meetings with the department's trade experts based in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenyang, Hong Kong, Macau, Tawain, Singapore and Mongolia.
