Francis Moschella, Pall Corp.'s corporate controller and chief accounting officer, will leave the company effective April 1, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Chief financial officer Akhil Johri assumed the role of chief accounting officer effective March 7, according to the brief filing that said Moschella was leaving "to pursue other interests." The company declined to comment further..

Moschella, an accounting graduate of St. John's University, joined Pall as vice president and corporate controller in May 2006 from General Electric Co.

Shares of Pall, a Port Washington-based manufacturer of filtration and purification equipment, edged down 0.6 point to $86.78 in early afternoon trading.

Pall's leadership was shaken up in 2011 when CEO Eric Krasnoff stepped down after disclosing an extramarital relationship with the company's general counsel, Sandra Marino, who also left her post.

In February, Pall reported a 2.2 percent increase in second-quarter sales to $677 million Thursday on the strength in its life sciences business.
