Cablevision Systems Corp. said it will offer two levels of free wireless Internet service at the Nassau Coliseum – unlimited access for Cablevision’s paid Internet subscribers, and limited wireless for non-customers.

The New York Islanders hockey team said it is Cablevision’s partner in the Coliseum’s wireless system.

Those who do not pay Cablevision at home or at work for Internet access “can experience limited free access,” Cablevision said. The company did not provide further details on the limits for non-customers.

The Colliseum’s new wireless network can support thousands of users at the same time in the arena, the lobby and concession areas, the companies said.
Cablevision owns Newsday.
