A Freeport entrepreneur has been named an adviser to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, it was announced Wednesday.
Deborah Leo, president of Retail Solution Center, will serve a three-year term on the bank’s Advisory Council on Small Business and Agriculture. The 11-member council represents companies in New York State, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and portions of New Jersey and Connecticut.
Council members meet three times a year with New York Fed president William Dudley and other bank officials to discuss the economy, hiring and other issues. They are not paid.
Retail Solution, at 75 Hanse Ave., designs and manufacturers merchandise displays for retailers such as Elizabeth Arden cosmetics and Victoria’s Secret lingerie.
Leo is the second Long Islander to be on the council. Margaret Krumholz, president of Disc Graphics Inc. in Hauppauge, was appointed last year.
