The George Martin Group, which runs a string of well-regarded steakhouses on Long Island, is opening its first out-of-state location, in Maryland.

It's called Grillfire Arundel -- sharing the name of the Merrick, Rockville Centre and Long Beach Grillfires. (The company also owns Nick's Tuscan Grill in Long Beach; and George Martin's Strip Steak, in Great River, which got a good review -- 2.5 stars on a 4-star scale -- in ExploreLI.)

The new Hanover, Md., restaurant is set to open this week in The Hotel at Arundel Preserve, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's "conceived as a sophisticated American grill," the company says.

Dinner entrees will include molasses and soy-marinated skirt steak and slow roasted maple brined pork chop.
