Globecomm named to Inc. the Build 100 list

Globecomm Systems Inc., a Hauppauge-based developer of satellite and Internet communications systems, has been named to Inc. magazine's Build 100 list of sustained growth companies.
Inc. began with a list of more than 100,000 U.S. midmarket companies with 85 to 999 employees. That list was filtered by eliminating all those companies -- more than 98.5 percent of the total -- that had not increased head count every year from 2007 to 2012.
To create the list, Inc. said it selected a subset of companies that agreed to participate in a study of their sustained growth.
Globecomm, with a head count of 380 as of 2013, was the lone Long Island representative on the list.
In December 2013, Manhattan-based private equity firm Wasserstein & Co. completed its $340-million purchase of Globecomm, which had been publicly traded.
