Great Neck fragrance company's banner year

Capping a banner year in which it made a deal to mass-market its colognes and perfumes in Duane Reade pharmacies, and to expand sales to China and South America, the Great Neck-based Demeter Fragrance Library has shut down completely until next year (until Sunday, that is).
The entire company is taking a four-day break before getting back to business packing shipments on New Year’s Day, its website says.
Anyone who ordered from Demeter’s holiday collection — which includes bottles of Snow, Mistletoe, Egg Nog and Gingerbread perfumes — will have to bear with the extra few days’ hiatus.
The company makes lines of colognes for such brands as Hello Kitty, Jolly Rancher and Tootsie Roll.
It also makes roll-on perfumes and spray bottles of such scents as Dirt, Gin & Tonic, Wet Garden and Laundromat.
