UPDATE: The IDA board gave preliminary approval Thursday for tax breaks of about $160,000, including a $120,000 reduction in property taxes over 15 years. The project is in Peconic and is in addition to the company's location in a former firehouse in Greenport, said co-founder Rich Vandenburgh.
The Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. hopes to expand by purchasing a three-acre property for a bottling operation, a tasting room and factory in a $3 million project.
The company employs four people and hopes to double that in two years. It is seeking assistance from the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency.
