The Linda McCartney brand of frozen vegetarian meals and desserts, made at a factory in England, has won an award in the United Kingdom for its parent company, The Hain Celestial Group.

The organic frozen food company was founded by Beatles singer Paul McCartney's late wife, who died after fighting cancer in 1998.

Hain, in Melville, was recognized with the  Eastern Daily Press Business Development Award for its Linda McCartney Foods Co. brand.

"Cited for its dramatic turnaround in the last 18 months with new management and investment in the facility, along with new products and packaging, the Hain Celestial Frozen Foods Fakenham facility produces the Linda McCartney brand," Hain said in a Wednesday news release.

The Eastern Daily Press covers the Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire regions in the United Kingdom.

Newsday reported in December that Hain was set to launch a major TV ad campaign in the United Kingdom for the McCartney line.

The ad campaign was centered on a promotional contest titled "The Search for the UK's Tastiest Meat-Free Dish."
