Hamptons plot in online auction

The former site of a Ford dealership on Montauk Highway in East Hampton will go up for bid  at a minimum starting price of $1.5 million, with the sale to take place on the website auction.com later this month.

The two-acre property at 368 Montauk Highway, the former Plitt Ford dealership, includes a building constructed in 1980 and is zoned “central business district,” the sellers said.

Bidding begins at www.auction.com at 1 p.m.  on June 22 and ends 48 hours later. The real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle, with offices in Manhattan, represents the property owners.

“This is a great opportunity for an investor,” Jeff Frieden, chief executive of Real Estate Disposition, said. His company runs auction.com.

He said, “The property is unique in its size and frontage on Montauk Highway and the right kind of business in this prime location could be wildly successful.”
