Hauppauge-based Globecomm Systems Inc. has received two contracts to provide wireless managed services to operators in Antigua and the Turks and Caicos Islands, the company said last week.
These contracts will provide CDMA switching facilities for voice and data services to wireless operator subscribers and roaming partners on the Caribbean islands.
Code division multiple access, or CDMA, technology is one of a number of wireless technologies in use worldwide.
“Our hosted mobile core switch demonstrates how Globecomm can help wireless carriers seamlessly and profitably advance to the next generation of mobile services,” said Andy Silberstein, vice president and general manager, Services.
“We are proud to provide these two Caribbean-based wireless operators with voice and data services utilizing our hosted switch platform.”
