Hauppauge company's yard sale
Talk about a group garage sale.
A good number of the 135 employees at ClearVision Optical in Hauppauge have been cleaning out closets, attics, garages and bringing in gently-used treasures for a company-wide (and then some) garage sale Aug. 20 in the employee parking lot.
Co-workers can certainly pick over one another's stuff, which so far includes items such as clothing, books, toys, designer sunglasses, a baby stroller, and a couple of small-sized refrigerators. But, Brenda Litzky, director of vendor and community relations, is also spreading the word to neighboring businesses and merchants.
The idea, she said, is to “give folks an opportunity to clear out attics and garages, and help folks purchase things at reduced prices.”
All proceeds are earmarked for Long Island Cares.
