After Hauppauge Digital’s shares quadrupled last week -- on news its TV tuner could wirelessly stream live television to Apple’s iPad – its share price retreated Monday.

The stock closed Monday at $2.82 on volume of just over 7 million shares.

The day’s decline came after the stock - which usually sees 90,000 shares traded in a day - had 29 million shares change hands on Friday rising to a high of $4.85.

Hauppauge Digital’s stock ascent was sparked by an announcement that inexpensive new software for its TV tuner boards can stream live television over the Internet to Apple's iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Mac computers.

The WinTV v7.2 software upgrade that includes WinTV Extend is $9.95 on the company's hauppauge.com website.

In its statement, Hauppauge said WinTV Extend can take a live home TV signal and send it over the Internet to a specific Apple handheld or Mac screen.

One version of the TV tuner could send signals from PCs running Windows 7, the company said.
