Health care notes in Suffolk

Lee Anne Xippolitos (above left) has been appointed dean of the Stony Brook University School of Nursing. Xippolitos has been serving as interim dean since July of 2009. The St. James resident will retain her position as chief nursing officer at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Dr. Nick Gabriel (above right) has joined the surgical staff at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson. The New Hyde Park resident has his own bariatric surgery practice in Smithtown.
