Henry Schein agrees to buy surgical supplies distributor

Health care products distributor Henry Schein Inc. said it has agreed to buy a South Carolina-based distributor of anesthesia and surgical supplies.

Melville-based Henry Schein, Long Island’s largest public company by revenue and market capitalization, didn’t disclose terms of its acquisition of Southern Anesthesia + Surgical.

Southern Anesthesia + Surgical, which distributes products to oral surgeons, dental anesthesiologists and periodontists, had $72 million in sales last year, according to a news release announcing the deal late Monday.
