Two contracts, together worth more than $38 million, have been awarded to companies with operations on Long Island, the Defense Department announced.

Henry Schein Inc., the Melville-based provider of health-care products to dentists, veterinarians and doctors, has won an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to deliver surgical products to the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. The contract, worth up to $24.4 million, runs nine months, with eight one-year options and one 15-month option.

The contract has a completion date of Sept. 27, 2027.

Separately, BAE Systems’ Greenlawn unit has been awarded a $14.5 million contract to provide “identification friend or foe” devices for U.S. Air Force F-16 jet fighters.

The devices are designed to ensure that allied forces do not fire on each other.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 27, 2021.

BAE Systems PLC is based in Farnborough, England.
