HIA-LI trade show expects 375 exhibitors, 4,000 attendees
HIA-LI, one of Long Island’s largest business groups, will be hosting hundreds of local businesses as they discuss growth strategies, network and examine the region’s economic opportunities at the group’s 28th annual trade show and conference on May 19.
The daylong expo, billed as the largest single-day, business-to-business trade show on the Island, is expected to bring in more than 4,000 attendees and 375 exhibiting businesses this year. The event will feature keynote speaker Clay Clark, an entrepreneur and author, during an executive breakfast session.
“Our executive programming is designed to educate and help attendees grow and build new relationships for success,” HIA-LI president Terri Alessi-Miceli said in a statement.
There will also be an executive luncheon session where panelists from Long Island’s development community will discuss local revitalization projects such as the Ronkonkoma Hub and Wyandanch Rising. Panelists include Russell Albanese, chairman of the Albanese Organization; Robert Coughlan, principal at Tritec Real Estate Co.; Donald Monti, president and CEO of Renaissance Downtowns; and Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri.
Throughout the day, attendees will be able to check out the 60,000-square-foot exhibition floor, as well as pick from a dozen seminars and breakout sessions. Topics range from energy savings for businesses to applying for small business loans.
The trade show is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will be held at the Suffolk Community College Sports & Exhibition Complex, 1001 Crooked Hill Rd. in Brentwood. Admission to the expo floor is free, and tickets for the executive breakfast or luncheon are $50 for HIA members, and $75 for nonmembers.
