High schools join engineering pipeline

Three Long Island high schools have been chosen to take part in a regional "engineering pipeline" education program funded by National Grid.
William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, Westbury High School and Long Island High School for the Arts in Syosset will participate in the utility’s program.
The schools are among more than a dozen from New York State and Massachusetts.
More than 50 students altogether will take part in what National Grid calls a "development program that creates a recruitment pathway to encourage promising high school students to become engineers."
