The Holtsville facility of a Florida-based aerospace company plans to lay off 55 employees, according to a state regulatory notice posted today.

B/E Aerospace Inc., whose business includes manufacturing aircraft cabin seats, distributing spare parts for planes and outfitting jets with espresso coffeemakers, cited economic reasons in its WARN filing. The local layoffs are scheduled to begin in October and continue through December 2013.

Under the state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, New York-based businesses with at least 50 full-time employees have to give employees, state and local governments and unions a 90-day notice of a closing or mass layoff.
