Village Latch Inn Hotel, Southampton, sells for $23M

The Village Latch Inn Hotel in Southampton, a 67-room hotel built at the turn of the century, has been sold for $23 million to Jericho-based residential developer The Beechwood Organization.
The hotel, a frequent lodging of former Vice President Al Gore, features seven buildings. The property, located at 101 Hill St., was purchased by Beechwood principal Steven Dubb and partner George Benedict, a Southampton-based developer. They are the developers behind the high-end town house community Bishops Pond.
Beechwood closed on the deal last month, and is currently evaluating options for the best use of the property, an outside spokeswoman for the company said.
The hotel, which sits on more than five acres, was owned by Martin and Marta White for more than 40 years. The deal was brokered by Esther Paster of Douglas Elliman Commercial.
