Hospice network to honor Racanelli Construction

The Racanelli Construction Co. will be honored at the Hospice Care Network's annual fundraising dinner, and tickets are now on sale for the springtime event, the charity said.

The network said the Racanelli family and its Melville-based business were notable in their support and donations during the past decade. Marty Racanelli Jr., a company executive, also serves on the hospice network’s fundraising committee.

The April 8 event, the network's 22nd annual Children's and Family Bereavement Dinner, will be held at Land's End, in Sayville.

The $150 ticket price includes a cocktail reception, buffet dinner, live auction and music by the party band Rich Mahogany.

The network is part of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and mostly provides hospice care to the terminally ill and other patients in their own homes. The network also provides care in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, at its Hospice Inn in Melville, and at its hospice unit at Franklin Hospital in Valley Stream.

"Recognizing that grief is a shared experience, Hospice Care Network embraces the family unit and partners with them individually and collectively on their journey toward healing," the charity said in a prepared statement about the annual dinner.
