Several Long Island locations are included as data points on this list of Internet connection speeds at  Net Index. 

Net Index is a website that tracks Internet speed data. It is put together by Ookla, a company that provides broadband speed testing and Web-based network diagnostic software. The company says that more than two million people a day use its free diagnostic tools, including Speedtest.net. Ookla also rates Internet providers
