Industrial supplier unveils big book

The new Big Book is here.

MSC Industrial Supply Co.'s catalog for 2010-2011 has just come out, listing 500,000 items in stock and ready to ship.

The company, headquartered on Maxess Road in Melville, distributes hard copies of the tome (that's a portion of the cover at left), but also offers it online here.

Mainstays of the catalog are supplies for emergency preparedness, maintenance and repair -- especially for schools and colleges -- and metalworking tools.
A few of the items featured on the cover of the new catalog: holemaking tools, threading taps, abrasives, measuring instruments, pneumatics, janitorial and HVAC supplies.

MSC has a separate, 200-page catalog of hand tools:

Founded in 1941 by Sid Jacobson, MSC put out its first Big Book in 1964. It has more than 90 branches and four major customer centers nationwide.
